Who We Are

“For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.  But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ”

— 1 Corinthians 15:22-23

Who We Are…

Greetings! We are very glad to have you visit our website and learn more about our church. Providence Presbyterian Church exists to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. We are a member congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) located in Pflugerville, Texas (Austin area). We believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice, and that it is faithfully summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms. We are accountable to our denomination and our presbytery (a regional group of OPC congregations) called the Presbytery of the Southwest.

Providence is not a building made of brick and mortar. We are a local body of living stones, believers and their children, founded upon the cornerstone Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:19-22). God has richly blessed our congregation for over 35 years since we first began worship in Austin in 1983 and He continues to be our refuge and strength as we magnify His Name in this area. Many countries are represented by the men, women, and children who make up our congregation which is a wonderful testimony to the grace of God extended to all nations in the gospel (Rev. 5:9-10). Our theological heritage can be traced back to the work of Martin Luther, John Calvin, and John Knox in the 16th century during the Reformation of that era and to the writings of Augustine produced in the 4th century. Our members truly enjoy worshipping God each week, spending time together, and meeting new people. We invite you to come worship the Triune God in the Name of Christ with us!
